Smoke Free Air - It's Good for Every Body!

A new era of public health protection in Minnesota begins on October 1, 2007. On this date, virtually all workers in Minnesota will be protected from the dangers associated with secondhand smoke. Minnesota has passed the Freedom to Breathe Act of 2007, which will extend secondhand smoke protections to every indoor workplace, including bars, restaurants, bowling centers, machine shops and more!  The Freedom to Breathe bill was signed into law by Governor Tim Pawlenty on May 16, 2007. The law, which goes into effect on October 1, makes Minnesota the twentieth state to go smoke free.
